Terms of Use

These are the rules Gustable works by. They describe what the app actually does. If the app starts working differently, this text will change too.

1. About the app and the developer

Gustable is an Android app that suggests dishes, walks you through cooking step by step and builds your shopping list. It is developed and maintained by Asuras Inc., the name under which an individual developer in the Republic of Belarus releases apps. Asuras Inc. is not a registered company.

2. What you need to use the app

You can use the app without an account, in which case everything is stored only on your phone. You need to sign in with a Google account for two things: to move your menu, shopping list, settings and XP to a new device, and to recognise a dish from a photo.

The app is intended for users aged 13 and over. By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 13.

An adult turns kids mode on from their own phone and sets their own code for leaving it. A child uses the app only in this mode, on the adult's phone and under the adult's supervision. The adult who turned the mode on is responsible for this. Adults create kids' profiles in a family; the rules are in section 7.

3. Free version and PRO

You can use the free version without a subscription and for as long as you like, but it has limits:

• three new recipes a day
• up to 10 selected dishes
• the shopping list covers one dish
• the weekly menu shows only today
• What you have at home (pantry) and profile statistics are PRO only
• some catalogue sections are PRO only

Diet, religious restriction and allergy filters always work, both in the free version and after a subscription ends. We do not put the safety of your food behind a paywall.

PRO is available as a Gustable PRO subscription, personal or family, monthly or yearly. Google Play sells the subscription and charges you under its own rules. We have no access to your card details. The subscription renews automatically until you cancel it.

One family member buys family PRO. It covers up to six adult members: the payer and the members who joined the family earliest. Kids' profiles do not take up places. All family members can see who is covered. The payer can move family PRO to another of their families. If the payer cancels the subscription, family PRO lasts until the end of the paid period. If the payer deletes their Gustable account, the family loses family PRO immediately, and the Google Play subscription has to be cancelled separately. The family chat works for as long as the family has family PRO.

Google Play may offer new subscribers a free trial (currently 7 days). Google Play provides and manages the trial. You will see its terms before you subscribe. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, Google Play starts charging you. The app itself has no separate trial.

You can cancel at any time in Google Play under Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. PRO stays active until the end of the paid period. Uninstalling the app or deleting your Gustable account does not cancel the subscription. Refunds are handled under Google Play's rules.

4. Promo codes

A promo code gives you PRO for the stated number of days. Each code can be used a limited number of times and may have an expiry date. One account cannot redeem the same code twice. Promo codes cannot be exchanged for money.

5. Food, allergies and responsibility

This section matters more than the rest, so we will be direct. We filter dishes by the ingredients we have entered into our own product database. If you have declared an allergy and something about a dish's ingredients is unknown, we do not show that dish: we would rather show you less.

Still, products in shops change their composition, manufacturers alter their recipes, and products with the same name can differ. Always read the label. If your allergy is severe, do not rely on the app alone.

The words halal and kosher are only names for groups of settings in the app. We are not a certification body and do not confirm the method of slaughter or any product certification.

Recipes and cost estimates are for reference only. They are not medical or dietary advice. What you eat is your decision.

6. Your account

You sign in to Gustable with your Google account, so you are responsible for access to that account. You can delete your Gustable account at any time, in the app (Profile → Delete account) or by email from the address you signed in with.

We may close access to an account if it is used to attack the service, brute-force promo codes or otherwise break the app for other users. We may also close access for serious or repeated breaches of the family chat rules (section 7).

7. Family and family chat

A family is a group of accounts that decide together what to cook. A family has a shared menu, votes, a cook and a chat. By joining a family, you agree that its members will see your name, avatar, allergies and food restrictions, your votes and your messages. The Privacy Policy (sections 2.13–2.16) describes exactly what is visible and how long it is kept.

The family owner is the person who created the family or the person ownership passed to. The owner can remove any member and delete any message in the chat. Any adult member can change the family's name and photo, invite people, revoke invites and manage kids' profiles.

Invite people you know and who, as far as you can tell, would want the invite. By entering someone else's email address, you confirm that you have the right to share it. Do not post an invite link publicly: while the link is valid, anyone who has it can join.

Create a kid's profile only if you are the child's parent or legal guardian, or are acting with their consent. You are responsible for entering the child's details correctly and with that consent: the allergies in the profile determine which dishes the family sees. Enter only what is needed to pick dishes. Instead of a full name, a nickname will do.

The family chat is for agreeing on what to eat. You are responsible for what you write. In the chat, you must not:

• insult, harass or intimidate people, or threaten them
• incite hatred or discrimination on the grounds of ethnicity, religion, sex, age, health or any other ground
• call for violence, self-harm or actions that endanger health
• send sexual content. Material that sexualises minors is prohibited without exception, and we report it to law enforcement where the law requires it
• send spam, advertising or fraudulent links, or try to trick people out of money, passwords or codes
• impersonate another person
• publish other people's personal data without their consent: addresses, phone numbers, documents, health information
• break the law or infringe other people's rights, including copyright

We do not check messages in advance and do not read families' conversations. If a message breaks these rules, report it right in the chat with the Report button on the message. A moderator (currently the developer) reviews the report and sees only the reported message and the details of the report. We do not tell the author who made the report.

The moderator deletes messages that break these rules. For serious or repeated breaches, we may restrict the offender's access to the chat or the family, or close access to their account. The family owner can also delete a message and remove a member without waiting for us. Any member can leave the family.

If someone's life or safety is threatened in the chat, write to us at egorkabercuk@gmail.com straight away. If anyone is in danger, contact the police or emergency services. We are not responsible for what other family members write, but we delete messages that break the rules when we learn about them.

8. What we do not promise

The app is provided as is. We do not promise that it will work without interruption: the server may be unavailable, and some features need an internet connection.

We are not responsible for the consequences of using the recipes or for decisions made on the basis of the information in the app. This does not limit our liability where the law does not allow it to be limited.

9. Content rights

The texts, the design and the selection of recipes belong to the developer. You may use the app freely, but you may not copy its content into your own service.

What you add yourself remains yours: chat messages, the family's name, description and photo, and your avatar. You allow us to store this content and show it to those who can see it under the app's rules (family members and people who open an invite) for as long as the app needs it to work.

If you believe a photo or text infringes your rights, write to egorkabercuk@gmail.com. We will look into it and take it down.

10. Changes

If the rules change, we will publish the new version on this page and state at the top both the version date and the date it takes effect. We will announce the changes in the app before they take effect.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Belarus. Before going to court, write to us: almost everything can be settled by email.
